UNG was charged by the ICAC in June 2002 in respect of three counts of using and possessing forged Cambodian passports with an intent to defraud Hong Kong Immigration officers and one count of using a false instrument. UNG absconded from bail amid the court trial. The trial judge issued a warrant for her arrest on 29 January 2004. The court found UNG guilty of all charges on 5 February 2004 after the trial was continued in her absence and imposed a sentence of 18 months' imprisonment against her. |
