Two persons, who were arrested on Tuesday in a joint ICAC-Police operation in connection with corruption-facilitated cross-boundary vice activities, were today (Thursday) charged by the ICAC for keeping vice establishments.

D1, 40, and D2, 20, were brought to the Kowloon City Magistracy this afternoon on a holding charge of conspiracy to keep a vice establishment, contrary to Sections 139(1)(a) and 159A of the Crimes Ordinance.

No pleas were taken. Magistrate Anthony Kwok Kai-on adjourned the case until May 20, pending further enquiries.

The defendants were ordered to be remanded under the custody of the Correctional Services Department.

The four premises are located in four separate buildings on Nanking Street, Parkes Street and Temple Street in the Jordon area.

The defendants were amongst 44 people arrested in the operation jointly conducted by the ICAC and the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau of the Police in the past two days.

The prosecution was today represented by Senior Public Prosecutor Robert K.Y. Lee, assisted by ICAC officer Jack Hui.

Meanwhile, a Magistrate of the Eastern Magistracy today issued a warrant of arrest for Chan Tak-yeung, who was wanted for his alleged role in the vice syndicate.
