The Chief Executive Election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will be held on 25 March 2012. Similar to other public elections, this election is also regulated by the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance (Cap. 554). The legislation, enforced by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), aims to uphold honesty and prevent corrupt and illegal conduct in public elections.
