Established in 2006, the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) is an independent and non-political anti-corruption organisation with the mandate to promote the effective implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and assist anti-corruption agencies (ACAs) worldwide in the prevention of and fight against corruption.
Mr Danny Y M Woo, Commissioner of the ICAC, serves as the President of IAACA. ICAC is responsible for operating the IAACA Secretariat with the following main duties:
- Assist the President in steering IAACA towards advancing the global fight against corruption and enhancing the Association"s involvement in the international anti-corruption community;
- Work closely with the Executive Committee (ExCo) to sustain IAACA"s existing programmes and implement new initiatives;
- Support the conduct of various meetings, international and regional training activities, etc;
- Organise incoming visits by the ExCo members , international counterparts and other stakeholders, and training programmes for anti-corruption agencies;
- Maintain close communication with members, international organisations and anti-corruption agencies around the world; and
- Promote IAACA through its website, newsletters, e-alerts and other online platforms and promote membership among relevant organisations.
