The Department conducts all investigations in accordance with established procedures and every complaint is treated in the strictest confidence.

All corruption complaints, whether pursuable or not, must be reported to the Operations Review Committee for scrutiny. No investigation is concluded without its endorsement.

An ICAC investigation is carried out to collect evidence. The authority to prosecute rests with the Secretary for Justice who decides in each case whether to proceed or not based on the investigation findings presented by the ICAC.
