Committee chairman speaks on anti corruption work and ICAC’s role in upholding core value
2012-12-3
The ICAC had strictly and vigorously enforced the law as evidenced by a number of recent prosecutions, while the public showed a growing awareness of corruption, said Mrs Laura Cha, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Corruption.
Interviewed by the ICAC web channel, Mrs Cha remarked the ICAC played a crucial role in upholding the core values of integrity and fairness in Hong Kong. To maintain its credibility, the anti-graft agency must remain impartial in discharging its duties.
Mrs Cha was pleased to see ICAC’s latest recruitment exercise attract a large number of applicants, and encouraged graft-fighters to strengthen their professional skills in information technology in view of the increasingly transnational and sophisticated nature of corruption cases.
