ICAC’s ‘Journey for Integrity’ programme calls on citizens to navigate life journeys with integrity
2022-6-19
ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu today (June 19) called on members of the public to make a concerted effort to safeguard the probity culture in Hong Kong and navigate their life journeys with integrity.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the “Journey for Integrity” signature event, Mr Peh said the many memorabilia featured in the event bore witness to the road the ICAC and Hong Kong citizens had travelled together for nearly 50 years in fighting corruption. He urged members of the public to continue to support anti-graft work and pass on the core value of integrity to the next generation.
Peh noted that the “Journey for Integrity” signature event was one of the ICAC’s initiatives to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Through participating in various ICAC activities, members of the public could join the Commission in celebrating the significant milestones in the history of HKSAR.
The experimental exhibition cum “integriteering” (portmanteau of “integrity” and “orienteering”) under the “Journey for Integrity” signature event is being held at the Parade Ground of Tai Kwun in Central on three consecutive days from June 18 and admission is free. The exhibition area showcases a collection of publicity items the ICAC produced at different times as well as historical photos and exhibits. The public will learn about Hong Kong’s anti-corruption journey, ICAC landmark cases and the rule of law in Hong Kong.
The event also features interactive games. Through undertaking anti-graft missions, participants can experience investigative work and learn about the ethical values.
In addition, a “Journey for Integrity” City Walk online platform was also launched today. The platform (https://integritywalks.hk) facilitates members of the public to explore specific landmarks across the territory which are both attractive visit spots as well as relevant to Hong Kong’s anti-corruption history, such as the Court of Final Appeal Building and the Yau Ma Tei Wholesale Fruit Market.
Also officiating at the launching ceremony today with Mr Peh were Professor Simon Ho Shun-man, Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations, and Ho Wai-chi, ICAC’s Director of Community Relations.
Detailed information of the “Journey for Integrity” signature event is available on the ICAC website (https://www.icac.org.hk/icac/twp/en/integriteering.html).
