ICAC Commissioner welcomes Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the HKSAR Cui Jianchun

ICAC Commissioner, Mr Woo Ying-ming, welcomed Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr Cui Jianchun, to the ICAC Building on Thursday (July 18) where an exchange of views on the latest anti-corruption landscape in Hong Kong and the international arena took place. Also in attendance were Commissioner Cui’s wife Ms Liang Huili, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (OCMFA) of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR, Mr Li Yongsheng, and Deputy Commissioner of the ICAC, Mr Ricky Yau Shu-chun.

Mr Woo expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the OCMFA for their continued support to the ICAC’s anti-corruption work. With the staunch support and assistance of the OCMFA, the ICAC hosted the 8th ICAC Symposium on its 50th anniversary, stepped up liaison with international counterparts to foster global anti-graft exchanges, and strengthened co-operation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The ICAC would continue to enhance the global anti-corruption network and tell good stories of Hong Kong to the world.

Mr Woo took the opportunity to brief Commissioner Cui on the development of the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption (HKIAAC). Both sides also exchanged their views on international and regional anti-corruption issues.

Commissioner Cui and his delegation also toured various ICAC facilities, including the HKIAAC and Video Interview Rooms, and received an update from ICAC officers on the global integrity development and professional graft-fighting strategy.
