To mark its 50th anniversary, starting from today (August 17) and for two consecutive weekends, the ICAC will open up the ICAC Building in North Point for members of the public to learn first-hand Hong Kong’s anti-corruption journey over the past five decades and the Commission’s latest initiatives.
Special highlights of the ICAC Open Day include the “ICAC TV Drama Series Exhibition”. In a nostalgia setting, the exhibition showcases memorable still shots and footages of the Commission’s signature TV drama series “ICAC Investigators” produced since its establishment. Members of the public are also invited to take a stroll down memory lane and witness Hong Kong’s anti-corruption journey though classic ICAC promotional posters and precious historic photos.
The Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption, established in February this year, is also open to the public for the first time for learning about the ICAC’s latest anti-corruption initiatives. Other highlights include display of firearms used by ICAC officers over the years and demonstration of arrest operation, all set to enhance participants’ understanding of ICAC’s law enforcement work. Participants will also tour the Exhibition Hall, Video Interview Room, Identification Parade Suite and Detention Centre.
“Riding on the Commission’s 50th anniversary, the ICAC Open Day sets a record with its wealth of activities and exhibits, all aim to share with members of the public Hong Kong’s anti-corruption achievements. The Open Day also received a record-high number of applications. By reflecting on the past and looking towards the future, we hope to demonstrate ICAC’s unwavering commitment to its anti-corruption mission and determination to strive for innovation in enhancing our capabilities,” said Daniel Chui Yu-ming, Regional Officer of ICAC’s Community Relations Department.
A total of about 6,000 tickets had been distributed earlier to the public through computer balloting. Members of the public with admission tickets are reminded to attend the guided tours according to the dates and time slots specified on their tickets.
