A new season of “ICAC Investigators 2024”, jointly produced by the ICAC and the Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), will be telecast five nights in a row starting from next Monday (October 21) to mark the Commission’s golden jubilee. Adapted from real ICAC investigations to showcase the resilience and professionalism of graft-fighters, the latest production will also see the Commissioner and other senior officers making cameo appearance.
ICAC Commissioner, Mr Woo Ying-ming, and Executive Chairman of TVB, Mr Thomas Hui To, officiated at the premiere of “ICAC Investigators 2024” held at the TVB City in Tseung Kwan O last night (October 17). Around 700 guests, including government and business representatives, community leaders, citizens from various social strata and students of different ethnicities, were invited to the event and preview the episode which centred around building maintenance corruption.
In his welcoming remarks at the premiere, Woo said, “The ICAC is the first government department to use TV drama to promote educational messages. First launched in 1976, the series has become a signature of the Commission. It has remained popular locally and is also widely recognised by our mainland and overseas counterparts. Screening a new season of ‘ICAC Investigators’ now is particularly meaningful as year 2024 is the 75th anniversary of our Motherland and the golden jubilee of the Commission.”
The 19th season of “ICAC Investigators 2024” comprises five episodes, depicting corruption and fraud cases concerning building maintenance, government officer, ramp-and-dump scam in relation to listed companies, school works projects and insurance claims respectively.
