ICAC Commissioner and delegation in Kazakhstan to attend Central Asia anti-corruption conference

An ICAC delegation, led by Commissioner Woo Ying-ming, arrived in Kazakhstan today (October 29) to attend an anti-corruption conference for the Central Asia region, and strengthen anti-graft exchanges with countries in the area.

Woo will attend and speak at the First Annual Conference of the Regional Platform for Fast-Tracking the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in Central Asia tomorrow (October 30). The conference, hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aims to promote the implementation of the UNCAC in Central Asian countries and enhance regional collaboration in combating corruption.

During the visit, the ICAC, the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities will join hands with UNODC and the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan to organise an anti-corruption training programme for graft-fighters from Central Asian countries.

ICAC officers accompanying Woo include Assistant Director of International Cooperation and Corporate Services Department Cheung Chin-kit, Assistant Director of Operations Department Wong Wai-kit, Principal International Cooperation Officer of International Cooperation and Corporate Services Department Lawrence Chiu Ming-wah, Senior Forensic Accountant of Operations Department Kobus Cheung Kin-keung and Chief Investigator of Operations Department Jalen Cheung Chun-hong. The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Saturday (November 2).
