2025-3-20
ICAC Commissioner Woo Ying-ming visited the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) of Macao as well as the headquarters of the Macao Judiciary Police today (March 20) for an interchange of information on the latest anti-corruption developments and law enforcement collaboration between Hong Kong and Macao.
Woo, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ricky Yau Shu-chun and other ICAC officers, met with CCAC Commissioner Ao Ieong Seong, who took office in late 2024, as well as CCAC Deputy Commissioner Wong Kim-fong. The two parties exchanged views on consolidating and deepening anti-corruption cooperation between Hong Kong and Macao, promoting integrity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, and enhancing international liaisons.
Woo stated that over the years the ICAC have maintained a close and effective working relationship with the CCAC in areas including mutual case assistance, systemic prevention and probity education. Both organisations are committed to elevating cooperation in combating cross- boundary corruption. In addition, upon invitation, the ICAC and CCAC will join hands for the first time and travel to Brazil later this month to deliver a three-day anti-graft training programme for over 80 officers of local anti-graft and law enforcement agencies, including the Comptroller General of the Union, the Attorney General Office, Administrative Council for Economic Defense, Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, Federal Police and Federal Revenue of Brazil. Through the initiative, the two organisations would export anti-graft experience of Hong Kong and Macao, jointly showcasing the advantages and remarkable achievements of the two places under the “One Country, Two Systems” framework.
In the afternoon, Woo met with Director of the Judiciary Police, Sit Chong-meng, at their headquarters to learn about Macao’s latest social security situation, and tour the cybersecurity and forensic facilities. ICAC investigators also took this opportunity to exchange experience with the Judiciary Police in financial investigation and forensic accounting.
The delegation will return to Hong Kong later tonight.
