The ICAC had received a delegation from Mali's Central Office for Fighting Illicit Enrichment (OCLEI) earlier this week to further enhance anti-corruption collaboration between Hong Kong and African countries. The ICAC shared with the Mali delegation Hong Kong’s three-pronged anti-graft strategy integrating law enforcement, prevention and education as well as the Commission’s endeavours to advance the international anti-corruption cause.

At a bilateral meeting held on Monday (May 19), ICAC Commissioner Woo Ying-ming and Deputy Commissioner and Head of Operations Ricky Yau Shu-chun shared with the 5-member delegation, led by President of OCLEI Moumouni Guindo, the ICAC’s time-tested three-pronged approach to battle against corruption. The delegation was also briefed on ICAC’s strategy by leveraging cutting-edge technology to help the public understand different facets of anti-corruption work.

President Guindo thanked the ICAC for receiving the delegation and highly commended the Commission’s innovative promotional strategy. He hoped to take reference from Hong Kong’s successful graft-fighting experience to refine Mali’s capability to combat corruption.

During the three-day visit, ICAC officers also shared with the delegation their experiences in corruption investigation, systematic prevention, integrity building and asset recovery. Delegates also toured various facilities in the ICAC building, including the newly revamped Exhibition Hall, to gain first-hand experience on the innovative facilities. In addition, the delegation today (May 21) visited an ICAC Regional Office to learn about probity education in local communities.
