ICAC chief announces senior directorate appointments

ICAC Commissioner Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu today (Friday) announced the appointment of Mr Ricky Yu Chun-cheong as Acting Head of Operations with effect from August 1, 2016 (Monday).
Mr Yu will replace incumbent Acting Head of Operations Mr Ricky Yau Shu-chun who has sought for a resolution of agreement with the Commission. He will proceed on final leave on August 1, 2016.
Mr Yu, 58, joined the ICAC in 1979 as an Assistant Investigator. He was promoted through the ranks to Principal Investigator in 2005, Assistant Director of Operations in 2012 and Director of Investigation (Government Sector) in 2016. Mr Yu was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government Service in 1999.
The ICAC Commissioner paid tribute to Mr Yau for his dedicated service in the ICAC and distinguished contribution to the anti-corruption cause.
The Commissioner also announced that Mr Ricky Chu Man-kin will be appointed Director of Investigation (Government Sector) with effect from August 1, 2016, subsequent to Mr Yu’s appointment.
Mr Chu, 62, joined the ICAC in 1978 as an Investigator. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to Assistant Director of Operations in 2005. He was temporarily posted to the Corruption Prevention Department from 2007 to 2008 as Acting Director of Corruption Prevention. He left the Commission in 2010 to take up the post of Secretary-General of the Independent Police Complaints Council.
