ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu today (Monday) commenced an official visit to Doha of the State of Qatar, where he will attend the Executive Committee (ExCo) meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) scheduled for today and tomorrow (February 27 and February 28).

The IAACA, of which the Hong Kong ICAC has been a member since 2007, is a non-governmental international organisation set up to promote co-operation in worldwide anti-corruption issues and foster the effective implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

It comprises over 300 organisational members including anti-graft as well as law enforcement agencies and related organisations from all over the world. Mr Peh is a member of the ExCo of the IAACA.

During the two-day meeting, Mr Peh will discuss with other ExCo members the IAACA’s work plan for the coming year and the revision of its constitution. He will also exchange views and anti-graft experience with the ExCo members and United Nations officials.

Accompanying Mr Peh during his visit is Lawrence Chung Wan-hon, Acting Principal Liaison Officer of the International and Mainland Liaison Office of the ICAC. They will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday (March 1) after the conclusion of the meeting.
