ICAC conducts household opinion survey to gauge public views on anti-graft work

2017-5-11

The ICAC will conduct a household opinion survey to gauge the public’s attitude towards corruption as well as their views about the work of the anti-corruption agency.

The face-to-face household survey will commence next Thursday (May 18) until August this year. A total of about 1,500 residents, aged between 15 and 64 living in Hong Kong, will be selected through random sampling.

“Over the years, the ICAC has engaged independent research agencies to conduct opinion surveys. The findings had served as useful reference for the Commission in finetuning its work strategies to address public concerns,” said an ICAC spokesman.

Selected households will receive a notification letter from the ICAC. They are invited to make an appointment with the research agency for an interview, which will last about 15-20 minutes.

Interviewers from the research agency will visit the selected households between 10 am and 10 pm during the survey period. They will all bear an authorisation letter issued by the ICAC and staff identity card of the research agency for identification purposes.

For enquiries, members of the public may call the ICAC enquiry hotline 2826 3267 between 10 am and 10 pm during the survey period. Details of the survey are also available on the ICAC’s website (www.icac.org.hk).

All information collected from the survey will be used solely for statistical analysis. Data of individual questionnaires will be kept strictly confidential and destroyed after processing.
