ICAC chief visits Hangzhou and Beijing to foster exchanges and cooperation in graft fight

ICAC Commissioner Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu today (June 2) led a delegation to visit anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies in Hangzhou and Beijing to foster exchanges and cooperation in the fight against corruption.

Mr Peh will arrive in Hangzhou this afternoon and meet with officials of the Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department.

The ICAC Commissioner will call on the Zhejiang Provincial Supervision Committee tomorrow (June 3) to exchange views on the latest anti-corruption initiatives and learn its experience in implementing the pilot programme of reforming the national supervision mechanism.

In addition, the Commissioner will visit the Zhejiang Police College where he will attend and address the opening ceremony of a National Studies Course participated by ICAC officers.

The delegation will depart for Beijing on Sunday (June 4). During its stay in Beijing, the delegation will meet with Professor Cao Jianming, Procurator General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, and senior officials of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Ministry of Supervision. It will visit the Beijing Municipal People’s Procuratorate to exchange experience in combating corruption.

The delegation will also call on the Ministry of Public Security, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the Beijing Municipal Supervision Committee.

ICAC officials accompanying Mr Peh on his visit to the Mainland include Mr Ricky Chu Man-kin, Director of Investigation (Private Sector); Mr Ken Ho King-yeung, Acting Assistant Director of Operations; Mr Lawrence Chung Wan-hon, Principal Liaison Officer of the International and Mainland Liaison Office; and Mr Raymond Kong Yim-kwan, Chief Investigator.

The delegation will conclude its visit and return to Hong Kong on Thursday (June 8).
