ICAC chief visits Guangzhou and Shenzhen to foster ties in graft fight

ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu today (July 12) leads a delegation to visit procuratorates and anti-corruption authorities in Guangzhou and Shenzhen to exchange experience and foster closer ties in graft-fighting work.

Mr Peh will call on the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Procuratorate today where he will meet Chief Procurator Mr Wang Yanlin.

The delegation will also visit the Shenzhen Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Supervision Bureau to exchange anti-graft experience with Secretary Mr Zhang Zixing and other officials of the Supervision Bureau.

The ICAC delegation will then travel to Guangzhou where they will call on the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection. In addition, the delegation will visit the Supervision Department and meet with Secretary Shi Kehui and other officials.

Prior to its return journey, the delegation will visit the Guangdong Provincial People’s Procuratorate and meet Chief Procurator Zheng Hong to exchange views on each other’s latest anti-corruption initiatives and enhance cooperation under the mutual case assistance scheme.

Accompanying Mr Peh on his visit are Ms Rita Liaw Lily, Director of Corruption Prevention; Mr Ricky Chu Man-kin, Director of Investigation (Private Sector) of the Operations Department; Mr Lawrence Chung Wan-hon, Principal Liaison Officer of the Community Relations Department; and Mr Raymond Kong Yim-kwan, Chief Investigator of the Operations Department. The delegation will conclude its visit and return to Hong Kong on Friday (July 14).
