ICAC Commissioner and delegation attend ASEAN anti-corruption meeting in Malaysia to foster regional collaboration

ICAC Commissioner Mr Woo Ying-ming, leading a delegation, arrived in Melaka, Malaysia today (July 27) where he will attend the 22nd Secretariat Meeting of the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC) in his capacity as the President of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), and will call on the IAACA and ASEAN-PAC members to work together to strengthen anti-corruption collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region.
During the meeting, Mr Woo will brief members on IAACA’s international anti-corruption achievements in recent years. He will also meet Dato’ Sri Abd Halim Bin Aman, the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to exchange insights on anti-graft initiatives and explore future collaboration. During their visit, the delegation will also call on the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Malaysia, Mr Ouyang Yujing.
Following the meeting, the ICAC will join hands with the ASEAN-PAC, the IAACA and the MACC to co-host a training seminar in Malaysia, where graft fighters from the ASEAN, IAACA members in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as representatives from international organisations will receive professional training on combating corruption in major infrastructure projects.
ICAC officers accompanying Mr Woo to Malaysia include Assistant Director of Operations Mr Wong Wai-kit, Chief Investigator Mr Justin Tung Siu-kei and Chief Academy Officer Mr Karson Li Tsz-hin. The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Friday (July 31).
