ICAC Alert: Beware of fraudulent recruitment posts on social media

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) urges members of the public to stay vigilant against fraudulent recruitment advertisements for the ICAC circulating on the social media platform Threads.
The fraudulent recruitment advertisements were published by accounts claiming to provide recruitment information, carrying counterfeit ICAC logos, falsely stating that the ICAC was recruiting “Executives Officers and Administrative Staff”. The posts also contained malicious hyperlinks to unidentified websites.
The ICAC firmly clarifies that none of these posts on recruitment advertisements were published by the Commission. Members of the public who encounter any suspicious posts should remain vigilant and refrain from clicking on embedded hyperlinks or providing information to the posters.
Members of the public who have provided personal information to any dubious websites or unknown persons via these fraudulent advertisements should contact the Police, or call the enquiry hotline “Anti-Scam Helpline 18222” of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre of the Police. For enquiries or if there are any suspicions regarding the impersonation of ICAC officers, the public is advised to contact the ICAC via its 24-hour hotline: 25 266 366.
