ICAC Commissioner attends UNODC Crime Congress in UAE to unveil newly co-developed Prison Guide

ICAC Commissioner Mr Woo Ying-ming undertakes an official visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) today (September 29) where he will attend the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice as a member of the Chinese delegation, with the aim to exchange law enforcement experience and gain insight into emerging international trends in combating crime.

Mr Woo, in his capacity as ICAC Commissioner and President of International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities, together with Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Ms Monica Juma, will launch on Thursday (October 1) the “Integrity Behind Bars: A Guide on Corruption Risk Management in Prison Systems”, a new globally relevant guidebook co-produced by the ICAC and the UNODC to enhance prison governance and combat corruption behind bars worldwide.

During the visit, Mr Woo will call on Mr Zhao Liang, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the UAE to share the latest anti-corruption work of the Commission. Accompanying Mr Woo on his visit are Principal Investigator of the Operations Department Ms Bonnie Wong Kar-man and Chief Academy Officer Mr Karson Li Tsz-hin. The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Saturday (October 3).
