Over 440 volunteers of the ICAC Club were today (April 29) commended for their dedication and diligent service in promoting the probity message at various activities hosted by the Community Relations Department (CRD) of the ICAC.

Officiating at the ICAC Club annual award presentation ceremony this morning, Professor Timothy Tong Wai-cheung, Chairman of the ICAC’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations (CACCR), lauded club members for their active engagement in anti-corruption education and the influence they exerted on people around them.

It was encouraging to see that some club members had mobilised their families to join the bus parade campaign under the “All for Integrity” territory-wide programme to help promote probity messages in the 18 districts, said Professor Tong.

Professor Tong noted that established last year, the ICAC Club’s Youth Chapter formed a new force for promulgating activities organised by the ICAC Club. For example, a working group was set up by young members to help organise today’s award presentation ceremony. They also took part in the drama performance and tile drawing activity at the ceremony, showing their enthusiasm and commitment in passing on the value of probity and integrity.

The ICAC Club is a voluntary group set up by the CRD in 1997 to promote active civic participation in anti-corruption work and safeguard a fair, stable, prosperous and corruption-free society. The club has over 2,100 members, about 1,000 of them are from the Youth Chapter.

Last year, about 440 club members clocked up over 3,800 hours of voluntary service at various “All for Integrity” programmes organised by the seven Regional Offices. Over 110 members received long-service awards and other major awards for their commendable contributions.

Attending today’s ceremony were ICAC’s Director of Community Relations Mr Raymond Ng Kwok-ming, Assistant Directors Ms Valentina Chan Kit-wan and Mr Ho Wai-chi, Regional Officers and CACCR members including Mr Edmond Chung Kong-mo, Mr Thomas Lo Sui-sing, Ms Peggy Lee Pik-yee and Mr Norman Lo Kam-wah, as well as Mr Victor Pang Wing-seng, member of the Preventive Education and Public Engagement Sub-Committee.
