HK’s anti-graft achievements showcased in ICAC Open Day

2019-2-23

On two consecutive weekends starting from today (February 23), members of the public will have the chance to learn first-hand Hong Kong’s anti-corruption history and achievements as the ICAC opens up its major facilities to mark the organisation’s 45th anniversary.

The ICAC Open Day 2019 will admit citizens who have acquired free admission tickets. A total of 5,300 tickets were distributed earlier through computer balloting.

Today, visitors were given guided tours by ICAC officers to various facilities in the ICAC Building, including the Detention Centre which was open to the public for the very first time, the ICAC Exhibition Hall, mock Video Interview Rooms and Identification Parade Suite. Firearms used by ICAC officers were also on display.

Visitors could also gain a better understanding of Hong Kong’s anti-corruption work through VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) game booths featuring landmark ICAC cases, while those who missed the Commission’s coffee sharing activities held earlier could have a taste of the ICAC’s signature coffee at their own expense during the Open Day.

Members of the public with admission tickets for tomorrow or next weekend are reminded to join the guide tours according to the time slots specified on their tickets.
