ICAC chief visits Beijing to foster anti-graft cooperation with counterparts

ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu today (April 9) commenced a visit to Beijing where he will meet Mainland anti-corruption counterparts to foster closer cooperation and officiate at the closing ceremony of a National Studies Course for ICAC officers.

During the four-day visit, Mr Peh will call on the National Commission of Supervision to discuss further cooperation between the two organisations.

In addition, the Commissioner will pay visits to the Ministry of Public Security and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

Mr Peh will also take the opportunity to meet eminent Mainland academics from different universities to exchange views on graft-fighting matters.

On Friday (April 12), Mr Peh will visit the Chinese Academy of Governance where he will address the closing ceremony of a National Studies Course participated by middle and senior ranking ICAC officers.

A total of 27 ICAC officers are in Beijing for a seven-day National Studies Course which commenced on April 6. The course features foreign policies of China, Belt and Road Initiative, Greater Bay Area Development Plan and national financial strategies as well as anti-corruption initiatives in the Mainland.

Accompanying Mr Peh to his visit to Beijing are Ken Ho King-yeung, Acting Director of Investigation/Private Sector of the Operations Department; Mr Lawrence Chung Wan-hon, Principal International Liaison and Training Officer; Ms Kate Cheuk Chi-yan, Acting Principal Investigator, Mr Raymond Kong Yim-kwan, Chief Investigator; and Ms Florence Au Pui-wai, Chief International Liaison and Training Officer. The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Friday (April 12).
