ICAC commences household survey to gauge public views on anti-graft work

2019-4-26

The ICAC will kick start its annual opinion survey from next Tuesday (April 30) to gauge the public’s views on corruption and the work of the ICAC.

About 1,500 residents of the city, aged between 15 and 64, will be selected through random sampling for household interviews to be conducted by an independent research company appointed by the ICAC. The survey is expected to be completed around August this year.

“Public opinions will greatly enhance the Commission’s understanding of their perceptions and major concerns. Their views will be useful references for formulating and fine-tuning our anti-corruption strategies,” said an ICAC spokesman.

Selected households will receive a notification letter from the ICAC. Interviewers of the independent research company engaged by the ICAC will visit the selected households between 10:00 am and 9:45 pm from Mondays to Sundays during the survey period to conduct an interview, which will last about 10-15 minutes.

Interviewers will bear an authorisation letter issued by the ICAC as well as a staff identity card of the research agency for identification purposes. Selected households are welcome to schedule the interview with the research company or the ICAC in advance.

For enquiries, members of the public may call the ICAC enquiry hotline 2826 3267 between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm during the survey period. Details of the survey will also be available on the ICAC corporate website (www.icac.org.hk).

All personal information and opinion collected will be used only for statistical analysis in the ICAC Annual Survey. Completed questionnaires will be destroyed after processing.
