ICAC chief to address international anti-graft summit in Vancouver

ICAC Commissioner Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu is visiting Vancouver, Canada, where he will address the TRACE Bribery and Economic Crime Summit and share Hong Kong’s graft fighting experience with law enforcers around the world.
The two-day summit, themed “Promoting Transparency”, and a pre-conference workshop on “Cryptocurrency and Corruption”, are organised by international anti-bribery consultancy TRACE between June 25 and 27, 2019. The summit will be attended by anti-graft and law enforcement officials, business leaders and experts around the world.
Mr Peh will speak at the panel “Building an Effective Anti-Bribery Commission: What Works… What Doesn’t” on Wednesday (June 26) on Hong Kong’s anti-corruption regime and the ICAC model.
TRACE, headquartered in the United States and registered in Canada, is a globally recognised anti-bribery business association which provides bribery risk assessment to over 500 multi-national companies located worldwide.
During his stay in Vancouver, Mr Peh will also take the opportunity to meet Attorney General of British Columbia Mr David Eby, and Integrity Vice President of the World Bank Ms Pascale Dubois.
Mr Peh will also visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to step up cooperation in fighting corruption.
Mr Peh is accompanied by the ICAC’s Acting Director of Investigation (Government Sector) Eric Tong Wing-tak and Principal International Liaison and Training Officer Lawrence Chung Wan-hon on the trip.
The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Saturday (June 29).
