A former first vice president of a bank has been charged by the ICAC today (July 16) with using eight receipts of five eateries containing false information to claim meal expenses totalling over $16,000 from the bank.

Wang Zheng, 40, former first vice president of East West Bank, faces eight counts of agent using document with intent to deceive her principal, contrary to Section 9(3) of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance.

The defendant will appear in the Eastern Magistracy on Thursday (July 18) for plea.

At the material time, the defendant was a first vice president of East West Bank. Working in the wealth management department, the defendant was responsible for providing banking services to clients. She was entitled to apply for reimbursement of meal expenses incurred in meetings with clients.
