ICAC chief departs for Shanghai to exchange anti-graft initiatives and forge closer ties

ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu has departed for Shanghai this afternoon (December 2) where he will call on anti-graft and law enforcement authorities and officiate the opening ceremony of a National Studies Course participated by ICAC officers.

During his stay in Shanghai, Mr Peh will visit the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Supervision to foster closer ties and exchange experience on anti-graft work.

He will also call on the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Public Security to enhance mutual liaison and cooperation.

In addition, the ICAC Commissioner will visit the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong tomorrow morning and address the opening ceremony of a National Studies Course organised for ICAC officers.

A total of 27 graft-fighters, 24 from the Hong Kong ICAC and three from the Macao Commission Against Corruption, are in Shanghai for the eight-day National Studies Course commencing today till December 9.

The course features modern history of China, Mainland’s criminal judicial system, national defence strategies, Belt and Road Initiatives and Greater Bay Area development, as well as the anti-corruption cooperation between Hong Kong and the Mainland.

Accompanying Mr Peh during his visit to Shanghai are Paul Lau Chi-ho, Acting Principal Investigator of the Operations Department; Raymond Kong Yim-kwan, Chief Investigator; Allen Leung Wing-hang, Chief International Liaison and Training Officer; and two Senior International Liaison and Training Officers Joe Tam Kwok-chu and Jerome Fan Yat-man. The delegation will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday (December 4).
