Synopsis

Two workers make a complaint to their supervisor about insufficient manpower and absence of some workers with attendance records being signed. Also, some workers take frequent sick leave and rarely show up. The supervisor ignores their complaint and warns them to mind their own business. The two workers suspect that the supervisor has overstated the number of workers on attendance records and inflated salary records to deceive the employer. It is illegal for an employee to use falsified documents to deceive the employer with an intent. The workers should decline the supervisor's request and report to the ICAC. One may lodge corruption complaint by visiting the 24-hour ICAC Report Centre at the ICAC Building or ICAC Regional Offices located across the territory. They may also call the ICAC 24-hour report hotline 25 266 366 or write to G.P.O. Box 1000, Hong Kong. All complaints would be kept in strict confidence.

Keeping accurate records at all time! It's a breach of Prevention of Bribery Ordinance if the supervisor deceives his employer with falsified attendance and salary records with an intent. The workers who sign on the falsified records will also be suspected of deceiving the employer with an intent. If anyone asks you to deceive the employer with falsified documents, you should refuse to do so and report it to the ICAC as soon as possible.
