Preventing Graft in Construction Projects – the Hong Kong Experience

Corruption may appear in every strata in a society. But the technical and complex nature of construction projects have made them particularly vulnerable to corruption. Its impact goes beyond bribe payments to substandard construction works which jeopardises public safety. ICAC’s Principal Corruption Prevention Officer Cheung Chin-kit, an engineer by profession, shares with the ICAC Post what his department has been doing to prevent corruption in the construction field, particularly in infrastructure projects.
