ICAC Club 25th Anniversary Presentation Ceremony

After 6 months of exchange between mentors and mentees, CRD invited the Chairman of Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations Professor Simon HO Shun-man, mentors Ms. Valentina CHAN Kit-wan and Mr. Freud YIP Kwong-fuk and the mentees to join the ICAC Club 25th Anniversary Award Presentation Ceremony (the Ceremony) held at the ICAC Building on 30 October 2022, to share their personal experience and insights in joining mentoring programmes.

The mentees remarked that the Programme strengthened their understanding of the legal system and the work of the ICAC. The process also helped them overcome some life challenges. For mentors, they showed appreciation to the positivity and enthusiasm of their mentees who had goals to work toward and were upholding positive values all along. In short, both mentors and mentees treasured the opportunity to join the Programme and developed good relationship among themselves.

Lastly, Professor Simon HO Shun-man shared with Club members a quote of Albert Einstein, "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value" to encourage the Club members and reassure their endeavours in promoting anti-corruption messages with the ICAC.

Likewise, other mentors and mentees joined the Ceremony to show their support.

Mentors and mentees joined the event organised by CRD on 19 June 2022 at Tai Kwun, Central, which provided them with a valuable opportunity to reflect on the anti-corruption history of Hong Kong, evils of corruption and the rule of law. Under the guidance of mentors, mentees learnt more about the ICAC landmark cases and its multifaceted approach in conveying integrity messages to the public in the changing times.

The 1st exchange session of the Programme
The session was held on 14 May 2022 at the ICAC Building. To allow more interaction among mentors and mentees, each mentor is matched with one or two mentees. During the session, the mentors and mentees had a fruitful discussion on work experience in the ICAC and life challenges through face-to-face or on-line channels. Their relationships were built up after the in-depth exchanges.
