Similar to other public elections, the Legislative Council (LegCo) Election scheduled for September 2012 is also regulated by the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance (Cap. 554). The legislation, enforced by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), aims to uphold honesty and prevent corrupt and illegal conduct in public elections.
