The Department strives to expand and consolidate an international network to fight the corruption scourge through:
- The ICAC recognises the importance of collaboration with anti-corruption counterparts from other jurisdictions, as well as international and regional organisations, in preventing and fighting corruption.
- The ICAC was designated by the Central People's Government to assist other signatories to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (the Convention) in building up their capacity in combating corruption. The ICAC has strengthened international training and collaboration for other jurisdictions under the framework of the Convention.
- The ICAC representing Hong Kong, China to participate in affairs of different international organisations, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Working Group, the Asian Development Bank and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development - Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific.
- Serving as the Secretariat of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities to promote the effective implementation of the Convention and assist anti-corruption agencies worldwide in the prevention of and fight against corruption.
- Maintaining close liaison with the Mainland and Macao counterparts to strengthen cooperation in combating cross-boundary corruption, as well as promoting probity and anti-corruption development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
- Promoting international anti-corruption research to build a theoretical foundation for various areas of anti-corruption work and provide strategies and solutions to address corruption challenges.
- Hosting the ICAC Symposium to exchange experiences and boost cooperation among law enforcement agencies.
