ICAC to launch annual household opinion survey from early June
2015-5-28
The ICAC will conduct an annual territory-wide household opinion survey in the next two months to gauge public views on Hong Kong’s corruption situation and the anti-graft agency’s work.
The face-to-face household survey will commence from June to August. A total of about 1,500 respondents will be selected through random sampling.
Over the years, opinion surveys commissioned by the ICAC and conducted by independent pollsters on an annual basis had served as a useful tool for the Commission to keep a close tab on social pulse and to fine-tune its work strategies.
For the 2015 survey, selected households will receive a notification letter from the ICAC. They are invited to make an appointment with the research agency for interviews.
Household visits will be conducted between 10 am and 10:30 pm during the survey period. All interviewers will bear an authorisation letter issued by the ICAC and a staff identity card of the research company for identification purpose. Members of the public may call the ICAC hotline at 9521 1657 between 10 am and 10 pm, Monday to Sunday for enquiries.
All personal information provided by the interviewees will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for the survey. All completed questionnaires will be destroyed after processing.
Details of the opinion survey are also available on the ICAC’s website (www.icac.org.hk).
