ICAC chief announces senior directorate appointments

ICAC Commissioner Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu today (Friday) announced that Ms Rebecca Li Bo-lan will act as Head of Operations with effect from tomorrow (Saturday).
Ms Li, 52, now Director of Investigation (Government Sector), will take over leading the Operations Department from Mr Ryan Wong Sai-chiu who will proceed on final leave.
Ms Li commenced her career in the ICAC in 1984 as an Assistant Investigator. She was promoted through the ranks to Principal Investigator in 2002, Assistant Director of Operations in 2004 and Director of Investigation in 2010.
Ms Li received the Hong Kong ICAC Medal for Distinguished Service in 2007 for her outstanding leadership and exemplary service.
Ms Li holds a master degree in criminal justice from the University of Leicester, the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the ICAC Commissioner also announced that Mr Ricky Yu Chun-cheong, now an Assistant Director of Operations, will act as Director of Investigation (Government Sector) with effect from tomorrow (Saturday), subsequent to Ms Li’s appointment.
Mr Yu, 57, joined the ICAC in 1979 as an Assistant Investigator. He was promoted through the ranks to Principal Investigator in 2005 and Assistant Director of Operations in 2012. Mr Yu was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government Service in 1999.
The Commissioner also took the opportunity to pay tribute to Mr Wong for his 38 years of dedicated service in the ICAC and his distinguished leadership in the past three years as Deputy Commissioner and Head of Operations.
“Serving with the highest dedication and professionalism, Mr Wong has made tremendous contribution to the Commission and Hong Kong’s anti-corruption cause throughout his career,” Mr Peh said.
“In the past three years, Mr Wong has steered the Operations Department through unprecedented challenges, and ensured that its duties were discharged in a fair and just manner and without fear or favour.”
