2023-2-28

Following the reopening of borders between Hong Kong, Mainland and Macao, the Commissioner of Macao Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) Mr Chan Tsz-king led a delegation to visit the Hong Kong ICAC headquarters today (February 28) and met with Commissioner Mr Woo Ying-ming to exchange views on anti-corruption initiatives.

The visit marked the first face-to-face meeting between the two agency chiefs since Mr Woo assumed office. Welcoming CCAC’s delegation, Mr Woo noted that due to the pandemic, the two organisations had to rely on video conferences to maintain liaisons. He firmly believed that with the reopening of borders, the two places would step up cooperation to tie in with the implementation of national development and anti-corruption policies.

Mr Woo also shared with Mr Chan upcoming ICAC’s initiatives, including preparation for the second Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao tripartite meeting to be held in Hong Kong, as well as his plan to visit the Greater Bay Area in the next half year to strengthen collaboration with the Commission of Supervision of the nine cities.

At today’s meeting, Deputy Commissioner and Head of Operations Mr Ricky Yau Shu-chun, Director of Corruption Prevention Mr Joe Lee Yat-sau, Director of International Cooperation and Corporate Services Ms Sally Kwan Yee-lan and Director of Community Relations Ms Corinna Wong Kit-mui, also briefed the delegation respectively on the ICAC’s enforcement work, latest corruption prevention initiatives, international cooperation, as well as education and publicity work for promoting a probity culture.

In addition, the delegation toured various facilities of the Commission, including the Report Centre, Detention Centre, Operation Control Room, Computer Forensic Room, Video Interview Room, Identification Parade Suite, Shooting Range and Mock Court.
