In connection with the ICAC ' s investigation into illegal bookmaking syndicates allegedly protected by serving and former police officers, one more civilian was arrested, making the total number of arrests 17.
The 53-year-old businessman was arrested by ICAC officers last night at Lo Wu checkpoint upon his return to Hong Kong. He is being detained by the ICAC.
Of the remaining 16 arrestees, eight of them have been released on ICAC bail, while the rest will also be bailed out later tonight.
