ICAC Commissioner meets the public

ICAC Commissioner Alan Lai Nin kicked off the Commission’s Open Day today (Saturday) as he greeted the first group of visitors.
Mr Lai said the Open Day provided the public an opportunity to see for themselves the work and facilities of the Commission and the Operations Department in particular.
The Open Day was one of the many initiatives taken by the ICAC in recent years to enhance its transparency, he said.
Since the Commission had to keep its investigations confidential under most circumstances, the public might feel that little was known about the ICAC, Mr Lai noted.
The ICAC held its first ever Open Day last year to mark its 25th anniversary.
This year, the Open Day is scheduled for two consecutive Saturdays starting from today. Members of the public can drop in the ICAC’s Operations Department headquarters at Murray Road Carpark Building, 2 Murray Road, Central between 10 am and 5 pm. There will be a meal break between 1 pm and 2 pm.
