ICAC opens up to the public

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is to hold its Open Day 2002 for members of the public on the following two Sundays (January 20 and 27) as part of a continuous effort to enhance transparency and public understanding on its anti-corrup tion work.
Visiting public will be organised in groups for guided tours each lasting about 90 minutes. The tour will feature an array of Operations Department's facilities, including the Exhibition Hall, Video Interview Rooms, Report Centre, Detention Centre and Ide ntification Parade Room.
In addition, the public will be shown among other things, a demonstration of information technology systems recently developed for use in ICAC operations, as well as firearms and other operational equipment.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own cameras and video cameras for the guided tours. They can also take photographs with paper ICAC officers and ICAC cartoon character Gee-dor-dor at the designated photo-taking area.
Members of the public who wish to visit the ICAC during the two Sundays are advised to arrive at the main entrance of the ICAC's Operation Department headquarters, Ground Floor, Murray Road Carpark Building, 2 Murray Road, Central.
Tours will be arranged between 10 am and 5 pm on each of the two Sundays on a first-come-first-serve basis. For enquiries, please call James Wong at 2928 6383.
