Ex-property agents charged with offering over $2m in bribes to listed company's former manager

Two former property agents were today (Wednesday) charged by the ICAC for allegedly offering bribes totalling more than $2 million to a public listed company's former executive in relation to property investment of the company and its subsidiaries.
Wong Yuk-sim, 50, and Ng Kai-ming, 38, formerly employed by Chung Shun Property Agency and Chong Hing Group respectively, will appear at North Kowloon Court at 9:30 am tomorrow (Thursday) .
The defendants face four bribery charges, alleging them of offering a total of $2,262,500 in bribes to Chau Chok-ming, former project manager of the Property Division of Easyknit International Holdings Limited (Easyknit).
The bribes were allegedly for Chau to recommend the two property agents to handle the purchases of various properties by Easyknit and its wholly owned subsidiaries, Mark Profit Development Limited and Grand Profit Development Limited.
The alleged offences took place between December 1996 and December 1997.
Chau was earlier charged with accepting bribes from the defendants. He was sentenced to 18 months' jail after pleading guilty.
Easyknit offered full assistance to the ICAC during its investigation.
The defendants are currently on ICAC bail, pending their court appearances tomorrow.
