Response Statement

In response to press enquiries on whether the ICAC has completed its corruption investigation into alleged horse race rigging and illegal bookmaking involving two jockeys of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), the ICAC issues the following statement:

"ICAC's enquiries into the case are continuing with full assistance from the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The Commission has obtained a court order under Section 17A of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance to require the two jockeys to surrender their travel documents to the ICAC.

The ICAC will seek legal advice from the Department of Justice on completion of the investigation."
