2002-4-12
About 800 secondary school students today (Friday) engaged in a direct dialogue with two popular artists in a gathering organised by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on values and gratification in life that go beyond material pleasures .
The live chit-chat event with Miriam Yeung and Alex Fong was staged as a prelude to the launch early next month of the revamped ICAC youth website, Teensland .
In welcoming the guests and students, ICAC’s Director of Community Relations Mrs Susan Mak said the Teensland had served as a valuable platform for the ICAC to interact with the youth.
In addition to the chit-chat event, the ICAC would continue to strive to instil positive values in the younger generation through the Internet by launching a new ‘'91Campus Chapter’ in the Teensland , she added.
The “Campus Chapter” would feature some interactive sections such as the Voting Corner , Sharing Corner and Ideas Collection Corner to allow youngsters to exchange views and ideas on topics of common interest, Mrs Mak said.
Another addition to the Teensland is the Broadcast Corner, which will webcast next week the highlights of today’s gathering.
Today’s chit-chat programme was attended by students from 15 secondary schools with the highest marks scored in the Teensland ’s educational online games competition held last month.
Webcast live on the Teensland ( http://www.icac.org.hk/teensland ) and the
HKeducationCITY.net ( http://www.hkeducity.net ), the gathering attracted scores of Net surfers to post questions and messages on the message board of the Teensland .
