ICAC invites bids for funding to promote clean culture
2002-4-19
The Community Involvement Programme (CIP) organised by the Independent Commission Against Corruption is now open for applications for funding of community projects organised to promote a clean culture.
An ICAC spokesman said: “The Commission has launched the CIP since 1988 to encourage community bodies to organise various kinds of activities to spread the anti-corruption message and promote the values of integrity and fairness.”
“Apart from granting funds, the ICAC will also offer advice on the approved projects and provide technical support, including the provision of audio-visual facilities, exhibition boards and other corruption prevention publications,” he said.
A total of $70,000 has been earmarked for the CIP in the current fiscal year. The funding for district-based projects will be capped at $5,000 each and cross-district projects at $20,000.
All applications will be vetted by the Community Liaison Sub-Committee of the ICAC’s Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations.
Projects could be organised in the form of workshops, exhibitions, seminars, competitions, leadership training programmes, and carnivals.
The deadline for application is May 8, 2002 (Wednesday).
Interested bodies can obtain application forms and related information from the ICAC’s regional offices or call 2158 5903 for enquiries.
