Mainland ethnic delegation visits ICAC

2002-5-25

ICAC’s Deputy Commissioner and Head of Operations, Mr Tony Kwok Man-wai, on Thursday met with a delegation of representatives from 56 Mainland ethnic groups on an official visit to the Commission.

The delegation is organised by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, National Development Programme Office and other organisations. Members of the delegation include government officials and representatives from academic institutions.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr Kwok introduced the ICAC’s three-pronged approach to effectively combat corruption through law-enforcement, prevention and education, which had been adopted since its inception in 1974.

“We maintain close liaison and co-operation with our Mainland counterparts, enabling both sides to regularly share experience on each other's anti-corruption efforts,” Mr Kwok said.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the ICAC Exhibition Hall and other facilities.
