The master of a Mainland-registered cargo vessel was today (Thursday) charged by the ICAC with allegedly offering advantages to a Marine Department staff for lax safety inspection.
The master was yesterday arrested by ICAC officers shortly after receiving a report from the Marine Department.
The vessel loaded with timber was sailing from Malaysia to Shanghai via Hong Kong.

The defendant is being detained by the ICAC, pending his court appearance tomorrow.
