Detective Station Sergeant re-arrested for allegedly accepting advantages to check Police computer information

A Detective Station Sergeant of the Police was today (Wednesday) re-arrested for allegedly accepting advantages to assist two suspected bookmakers in checking information on debtors through unlawful access to the Police computer systems.
The Detective Station Sergeant was arrested by the ICAC in May this year for other suspected corruption offences.
The two suspected bookmakers were also arrested for allegedly offering advantages to the Detective Station Sergeant to obtain information on debtors from the Police computer systems.
During the arrest operation, bookmaking records relating to overseas soccer matches were uncovered from one of the suspected bookmakers.
The Police has rendered full cooperation to the ICAC during this investigation.
While the Detective Station Sergeant refused bail, the other two arrestees had been released on bail. Enquiries are continuing.
