ICAC Commissioner briefs Mainland anti-corruption chief

The Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, briefed the head of the anti-corruption office of the Mainland's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Hong Kong's latest anti-corruption initiatives du ring his visit to the territory.
Mr Zhang Jiannan, Director-General of the General Administration of Anti-Corruption of SPP, had paid a full-day visit to the ICAC earlier this week as part of his visit programme to Hong Kong.
He was briefed on ICAC's work, as well as the Commission's initiatives in fostering liaison and co-operation with anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies in other jurisdictions.
"In light of the increasingly close economic ties between the Mainland and Hong Kong, it is important that anti-corruption agencies on both sides continue to build on the existing solid foundation for co-operation in combatting cross-boundary graft activi ties," Mr Wong said.
Mr Zhang also met with the heads of ICAC's three departments –'96 Operations, Corruption Prevention and Community Relations, and toured the facilities of the Operations Department.
Having learnt first-hand the latest development of ICAC's work, Mr Zhang noted that he was confident future co-operation between the ICAC and the Mainland procuratorates would flourish.
Mr Zhang also paid visits to other policy bureaux and government departments before his departure today (Saturday).
Accompanying Mr Zhang on his visit to Hong Kong was Mr Han Guoguang, Director of the Office of the General Administration of Anti-Corruption of SPP.
