ICAC Commissioner, Mr Raymond Wong Hung-chiu, today (Tuesday) met with the Commissioner of the Macau Commission Against Corruption (CCAC), Mr Cheong U, during his visit to Hong Kong.

Mr Wong said the meeting enabled both sides to exchange views and information on the latest developments of each other’s anti-corruption work.

“We should continue to step up liaison and co-operation in the fight against corruption especially in light of the increasingly close economic and social ties between the two places,” he said.

At the meeting, Mr Cheong noted that the visit had fostered mutual understanding between the two anti-corruption agencies and provided an opportunity for sharing each other’s experiences in combating graft.

Accompanying Mr Cheong on his visit to the ICAC was Mr Afonso Chan Seak-hou, Deputy Commissioner of the Macau CCAC and two other officers.

Mr Cheong today also visited a group of 14 Macau CCAC’s investigators who are in Hong Kong for a six-day training course run by ICAC officers, covering interviewing techniques, surveillance and planning of operation.

The Macau investigators also toured various facilities of the Operations Department, including the Exhibition Hall, 24-hour Report Centre, Video

Interview Room, Detention Centre and the Identification Parade Room.
