Woman charged for allegedly making false report against police officers

2004-3-16

A woman was today (Tuesday) charged by the ICAC for allegedly fabricating a corruption report against a number of police officers, accusing them of accepting an advantage for framing her for deception.

Ann Koo Tin-na, 52, will appear at Eastern Magistracy at 9:30 am tomorrow (Wednesday) on one count of knowingly misleading an ICAC officer, contrary to Section 13B(b) of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Ordinance.

The charge alleges that on March 20, 2003, Koo had knowingly misled an ICAC officer by making a false accusation.

Koo is alleged to have falsely claimed that officers attached to the investigation team of a police station had accepted an advantage from two other women on account of setting her up for offences of obtaining property by deception.
