ICAC invites applications for funding to promote clean culture

Community organisations are invited to apply to the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) for fund to sponsor community projects designed to promote a culture of probity among new arrivals under its Community Involvement Programme (CIP).
An ICAC spokesman said: "The CIP, which has been launched since 1988, aims to encourage community organisations to organise various types of activities to spread anti-corruption messages and to promote the values of integrity and fairness."
A total of $150,000 is earmarked for the CIP in the current fiscal year, with the maximum amount of funds made available for each project capped at $5,000.
All applications will be vetted by the Mass Media and Education Sub-Committee of the ICAC's Citizen's Advisory Committee on Community Relations.
"Apart from granting funds, the ICAC will also offer advice on the approved projects, whilst technical support such as audio-visual facilities, exhibition boards and other corruption prevention publications will also be provided if required," the spokesma n added.
Proposed projects could be organised in the form of workshops, exhibitions, seminars, competitions, carnivals and leadership training programmes.
The deadline for application is April 20, 2004 (Tuesday).
Interested bodies can obtain application forms and related information from the ICAC's regional offices or call 2158 5903 during office hour for enquiries.
